Charlene Gayle

Director, Political Affairs

Since receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, Charlene has worked in her families real estate management firm established by her parents over 40 years ago. With a real estate portfolio consisting of over 300 commercial and residential units, Pentagon Real Estate Management specializes in low income and rent stabilized units.   As the Managing Director of Pentagon Real Estate Management, Charlene oversees the day to day operation.

Aware of the severe housing crisis in New York City, Charlene works closely with various city and non for profit agencies assisting low income tenants   with housing.

With over 15 years of Real Estate Management experience working closely with her father, Real Estate Mogul Leonard Gayle, Charlene successfully launched her full service Real Estate company, The Macon Realty Inc. The Macon Realty Inc. owns and manages over 20 units throughout Bed Sty. The Macon Realty has successfully overseen over $10 million of transaction.    Determine to expand her company’s participation in bidding for government contracts and to hire employees from within the neighborhood, Charlene applied and received WMBE, DBE and SBA certification for her company.

Having experienced  the various obstacles as small-business owner, Charlene have been able to overcome these obstacles by keeping a positive attitude, being resourceful and developing solid practical business strategies. On her free time, Charlene encourages and assists other minority entrepreneurs to have their business certified.  She also advises them to stay focused, network effectively, and more importantly, be passionate about their business.

 For over 15 years, Charlene has been an active member of the Crown Heights Lion Club. She also is a member of Community Board 9. 

Charlene always had a keen interest in politics.  She have organized and hosted successful fund raisers for various elected official and judicial candidates.  Charlene has also diligently worked on various political and judicial campaigns.  In November 2009, Charlene was named Political Director of Gotham Government Relations, a lobbying firm that specializes in city, state and federal government and social issues.
